Our Team
Kevin Eastham ’the Gaffer’ has nigh on 50 years experience across the business, his first step training to be an upholsterer at 16. That was his day job – his innovative and enterprising nature led him to selling goods on a market stall in Accrington at 14 and by night DJing at many pubs around the area – when he was a little older of course! His invaluable skills grew and his resume soon encompassed a variety of successful businesses in manufacturing furniture, upholstered goods and everything associated. For the past 20 years or so his speciality has been manufacturing and installing bars, although his first passion of upholstery is still very much ignited.
Nicky Wrathall works closely alongside Kevin. Friends and business associates for over 20 years, initially Nicky’s career began in hotel management. After 6 years a career change led her to work for an interior design practice, originally as project co-ordinator but soon after moving into design and property development. This varied experience over 25 years in the contracting industry yields a wealth of skills to garner from; very useful managing projects and producing designs for the contract market.
Steve Sykes has been with CMJ for more years than he would care to mention – though mention it we will circa – 40 years! Once upon a time lecturing for Burnley College he swapped the class room for the factory and has since remained. There is very little that Steve cannot do – he is a master of all trades and provides a wealth of knowledge and experience in this vast field.
Oliver Eastham started with CMJ as a young City and Guilds apprentice some 13 years ago. Now a seasoned joiner with years of experience he has fitted bars, ceilings, and fixed seating to mention a few. Following in the steps of his Dad he is adding to his range of skills weekly.

All our goods are manufactured here at our premises in East Lancashire and are truly British Made. With over 40 years of experience our City & Guilds trained team are skilled craftsmen in cabinet making, joinery and upholstery using sustainable materials from certified and reputable suppliers.

I have no reason not to recommend CMJ. From the very start of the process you can see the passion that Kevin and his team has for their work. Initially, Kevin was requested to quote for a bar counter and back bar as we were thinking of doing a full refurbishment in house and use our own expertise from within the membership to manage the project. Once Kevin had been to site, we were impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm to working in our clubhouse, preserving its features whilst modernising its main bar areas, we therefore asked if he wanted to quote for the full work. The very start we knew we were in safe hands, the full interior design and project management was ably handled by Nicky. After a visit to his main workshops to see furniture and some of his staff, we were sold and awarded the full contract to CMJ and have never looked back The project was scheduled to take 10 weeks, which involved the full strip out of the current fixtures and fittings, removal of 2 load bearing walls, full re-wire, plastering, decorating, the building of a new large bar and kitchen, and new furniture. The guys on site were great, worked like I have never seen before and became almost part of our staff. I have recommended Kevin and his team to several other golf clubs and have no reason not to recommend them to you. In April of this year we invited CMJ to prepare a 'scheme' to refurbish the function room at Mere Brow Village Hall. Kevin Eastham, came and met with the directors, took away some ideas, and then came back with some suggestions, along with a 'mood board' which we found very helpful. The mood board was kept on display in the foyer, so our customers could visualise how the room was going to look. Nicky, CMJ's interior designer, also came up with a good colour scheme, and other good ideas. At no time did CMJ try to sell us items we did not need or want. Work began on time in August, and involved a complete rip out of the existing bar. The two joiners who undertook most of the work were very polite, and helpful, as was the flooring contractor. The bar and the flooring look great and we are really pleased with all the work they have done. We are so pleased with the work, that we have already asked CMJ to come up with a scheme for our other room the Runner Plat Bar, our Games Room. We have no hesitation in recommending CMJ to you, and hope you are as pleased with their work as we are.

The club and I have worked on two big renovation projects at the club over the last two years, CMJ provide a detailed and monetarised plan of work which we found very professional and easy for both sides to understand and ensure that both parties were clear on all aspects of the project and was one of the key reasons we chose CMJ above other quotes for our first project.
